Ohio's First Peoples by James H. O'Donnell III
This book depicts the Native Americans of the Buckeye State from the time of the well-known Hopewell people to the forced removal of the Wyandot's in the 1840's. His detailed overviews of the movements of the Fort Ancient peoples driven out by economic and political forces in the 17th century to the Shawnees. Delaware's and Wyandot's lured to Ohio by plentiful game and fertile farmlands reminds us that by the early nineteenth century only a few native peoples remained, still hoping to retain their homes.
