Innovation & Inventions Case History Description

Ohio has been the home of many innovators and inventors. This case explores some of the ideas and products that have made Ohio famous. Students will get to interact with objects and see designs that have taken shape in Ohio. Some of these items include an Edison wax cylinder, the patent for Garrett Morgan’s traffic signal, and an Etch-A-Sketch.

"History to go" is the best way to describe these popular cases filled with primary sources, audio visual materials, and "hands-on" objects and artifacts designed to make the teaching of Ohio history both educational...and fun!

Designed to enhance Ohio's Social Studies Academic Content Standards, the cases are targeted for students in the primary through middle-school grades. Each kit provides an array of hands-on learning objects, as well as a teacher's guide, audio-visual materials, and original or reproduction artifacts from the Ohio Historical Society's collections. All cases are available on a first-reserve, first-served basis.
