Freedom Stairway Description

Stairs leading from the bank of the Ohio River to the home of abolitionist John Rankin near Ripley, Ohio. The stairs are known as the 'Freedom Stairway' because it is believed that they may have been used by escaped slaves to reach Rankin's home, a stop on the Underground Railroad.
