The Individual in History: Actions and Legacies BCHE 2008 Annual Conference, July 25, 2008
The Buckeye Council for History Education invites you to attend our 2008 annual conference at the Ohio History Center in Columbus, Ohio on July 25, 2008. Our conference theme reflects next year’s National History Day theme, The Individual in History: Actions and Legacies.
The conference will feature concurrent sessions which address history content, pedagogy and resources. History content sessions will be led by academic and public historians and will examine contemporary scholarship. Pedagogy sessions will provide participants with examples of how top educators in the state are incorporating content and primary source materials into standards-aligned history lessons. The resource sessions will introduce teachers to history resources available around the state. The focus is on finding, analyzing and incorporating primary source materials into real-world teaching strategies
Our keynote speaker at this year’s conference will be James H. Bissland, author of BLOOD, TEARS, AND GLORY: How Ohioans Won the Civil War.
Please join us on Thursday, July 24, for a dinner to kick-off the 2008 conference. Our guest speaker will be Beth Boland, Historian, National Register of Historic Places. You may register for this FREE event by selecting “attending” from the drop down box at the top of the page.
