Directions The Ohio Historical Center is at I-71 and 17th Ave., about four miles north of downtown Columbus.
The All-American Quarter Horse Congress takes place at the Ohio Expositions Center (state fairgrounds) across 17th Ave. from the Ohio Historical Center Saturday, October 4 through Sunday, October 26. If you love both history and horses, you’re in luck!
However, as the horse show gets underway you may encounter more traffic than usual in the block of 17th Ave. between I-71 and the Ohio Historical Center. The Ohio Historical Center will be accessible from 17th Ave. (follow the special directions below), but during the horse show you must approach from the east (i.e., from I-71 and 17th Ave.), because 17th Ave. west of the Ohio Historical Center will be closed.
From I-71, take the 17th Ave. exit (Exit 111). Go west on 17th Ave., staying in the far right lane. Turn north (right) into the first driveway, staying in the far right lane. If you are directed to another lane, or if the right lane is blocked, stay in the far right lane and tell the attendant that you are going to the Ohio Historical Center. At the fork, follow the drive on your right to Ohio Historical Center parking.
Parking Ohio Historical Center parking is $4 per day. Ohio Historical Society members who show a membership card park free at the Ohio Historical Center.
